Monday continued

So I hate to be beaten my a computer and sat chasing down what could be the solution for my dilema and low and behold, thanks to Dom getting me on the internet I found a program that didn't come down as an .exe file so didn't get zapped.  Two minues later and I was up and running again...I could get into Freecell and that's how I know that I had got it to work.  That bastard of a bug had knocked out all of the shortcut keys and desktop icons so nothing would start....When I tried to open Freecell it would ask me what I wanted to open it with...and my response of 'a double click' just wasn't listed on the options....anyway...I did it...and managed to run MalawareBytes and it found the Hijack me..   program and it is now deleted along with three other not so important beauties....so I didn't have to go out and spend but I might just be tempted tomorrow...I'll go into Kardjali and see what rolls out...

On the other side of the coin I have had a brilliant day in the garden getting rid of loads of couch grass and establishing a new flower bed...unfortunately the only thing I have to fill it with at the moment is Nicotina and lovely as it is...it's going to be a bugger next year.  As I said I feel so sorry for those that sprout up in the wrong place, I move some to a better place but there are those that just have to take the rough ground along with the smooth....pickies tomorrow...I didn't come in until 8.45 tonight after spending hours slaving over a hot laptop...

LN...have a good evening...

Tuesday 28th June

This morning I slept on until 6.20 and felt very rested...no vivid dreams that I could recall but I suppose they might come back to me later in the day...as they have a habit of...now did it really happen or did I dream it?  It comes to us all as we approach the twilight of our years...so I'm told.

My laptop is still holding up and no more issues to date so as well as shepherdess to the CV I shall be able to add 'Pest control' officer.  I think it's rather sad that people just want to undo what the rest of us want to quietly get on with.  Whether their motives are for organised crime or just to 'sod people off', it's tantamount to piracy.  It's not only the damage they do it's the length of time that it takes to put things right again or the cost if you have to go and get expert help to get it sorted.

So this morning after checking that everything was still working...I went to achieve what I was going to do before they struck.  I was out in my garden and weeded another patch but you can't really see where, but I suppose it will all come together eventually unless I have to resort to Roundup and that will make sure it does.  Came in at about eight thirty, showered and headed in the Beast to Djebel to the garage to get my oil, fuel and air filters changed and the oil.  Success...I was offered more for the Beast than I paid for it and it was suggested that I buy a cabriole from them that has petrol and gas and I just laughed....Can't imagine my men doing the 'royal wave' on their way back and to work....noooo....

Did a little bit of shopping and the police have now installed metal 'no through' barriers around the square. At least some of the European funding is showing something positive out here and the town centre has really cleaned up...let's hope it rubs off on the villages.  They're not too particular as to where the rubbish goes as long as it isn't in their back garden (or their front) and in our village alone we have about three refuse dumps and they blame it on not having 'containers'.  Now I burn all of mine in my garden...it's probably going about twice a week for about half an hour and that's it....lead by example I say and I'll keep on to the mayor.  Had lunch with my lady in the restaurant and delivered some 'Sudocreme'.  She has a sort of athletes foot and her doctor has run out of ideas so I thought I'd get her some so that she could try it.

Now going to get a coffee and sit out for a while.  Had a few rain shower today but it's still in the middle 20's and the wind just about right.  I'll see if I can get a few pickies of my latest garden projects....

Windows XP Security is designed to extract money from your credit card. Your computer becomes so crippled, the only way offered is to hand over your credit card details to some Russian who then clones your card and goes on a spending spree in Nigeria, whilst offering no solution.  Alas, Malawarebytes is the only fix and has to be done carefully as your infected PC will block all attempt to run an .exe. Either that or it's back to Genesis for XP (in the beginning, there was a freshly formatted hard drive...)

Anyway, current prices in the UK for a "Beast" (2.8TD EXCEED) is around £1500 - £2000 for a low mileage one (Ebay). I'll certainly be bringing one over, and yes, they do run quite happily on filtered chip fat if required. Alas, with so many vehicles trashed in the Japanese Tsunami, they are no longer exporting 2nd hand ones for the time being, so I'll have to wait until nearer the day...

Wednesday 29th June

What a day of mish mash weather.  I was out this morning until 12.00 working away.  It was cloudy but muggy with it so no problem there.  Came in for a cuppa and when I went out again it started to rain.  Now I believe that there's someone up there who decides that as soon as I'm lighting a bonfire to get rid of the weeds so the seeds don't blow everywhere, there is usually a shower of rain or a few great big spots as if to say...not so easy is it.  Anyway I persevered having come upon another polythene mine and when are they going to realise that it doesn't bio-degrade and neither do the metal clips that probably held the poly-tunnel together but I'm saving those and finding them really useful.  Into storage with them!!

By now the wind has got up and it's blowing a gale and not only a gale but it's cold.  I came in and decided that to complement my outfit of chopped off jeans I would add a pair of over the knee strippy socks to keep the chill off.  Now I could have put long trousers on but that seemed like hard work at the time and complete with sandles, a fairly thick sweatshirt, I started again removing weeds and yes, you've guessed it the sun came out and at this point, I decided that enough is enough so headed for the kitchen, found a tin of tuna, got out the mayo and made a couple of sandwiches.  Sat outside to have lunch and so the sweater had to come off but it was short lived.  Got on the pc and printed off some of Krazy Dads sudoku and stretched out on the activity bench ( or lack of activity bench) and was half way through the second when my lovely neighbours invaded with the intention of making me some lime blossom tea.  I explained...I don't like it... so gave them fizzy lemonade instead, told them that the vodka was at the bottom and they didn't seem to know whether I was joking or not.  During the discussion, the case of the red sheep came up and as I guessed...I think it is imported for breeding purposes but I had the strong feeling that they'd 'painted' it so that they would know which one it was.  I was right....you can see where the rope mark that held it while they did it...obviously being a sheep farmer is pretty boring so they have to find ways to make it more interesting or perhaps a little too much 'sauce' and I don't mean of the mint kind...that comes much later...I'll wait for the green one from 'Spain'.

Not in the least bit hungry after my tuna mayo creations so going back to my puzzles and then look for another book to read...there's bound to be one somewhere....LN

Thursday 30th June

Last night I slept very badly and I put it down to only having one drink before bedtime...let that be a lesson to you...   I woke at 3.00 and had an hour on my DS killing all the Germs, got my head down when I felt sleepy enough and prompty heard a bleep from my mobile phone which I assumed was telling me that it was fully charged.  Wrong...seven fifteen I was searching for this blessed thing that wouldn't stop ringing and it was the taxi line....Gouljan, who had apparently text me earlier and illiciting no response was phoning to see if I would take her into Dhebel...at 7.45....so up I got, showered and went to the bus stop to be greeted by Gouljan, mother and father and lots of luggage.  So Gouljan is heading for Turkey to pursue citizenship and I did ask why, isn't Bulgarian enough for you but if you are a Cinderella chasing a Prince Charming then needs as needs must.

So at 8.00 this morning I was in Lidl and got all of the things from my list that I prepared yesterday and from there to Billa to complete my monthly shop.  I did pick up a fly zappa from Lidl and yes, you've guessed it.  It has a plastic screw for the battery compartment and out of all in the shop, mine was the one that the screw was broken in so another trip plus receipt and we'll see how good that Bulgarian / Lidl's guarantee is.   From there Technomarket and I succumbed. I have a new pc and it's inthe hands of D of S bringing life into a dead box that should take years off my life.  It's a very speedy machine according to the man in the shop so we'll wait and see.  Included in the price was a 21inch monitor so I suppose if I lose my specs, it's no big deal.

So came back from D of S's with tomato plants that he just couldn't kill being the softy that he is and two Fucshias, the parent of which I managed to kill last year by not bringing them in before the frost.  Note to self...they are not hardy.  Already they are planted up and cooked supper of pan fried honey coated chicken wings and chippies along with a Lidl special premium pils lager and just had a wee nap under my cherry tree in my swinging chair.  Now kitchen tidy, at last on to the Internet, updating my emails and stuff and then settling down with the book that I found yesterday.

LN...the thunder has now subsided, the sky has cleared and the rain stopped.  The clouds are hanging over the Greek mountains and let's hope they stay there...I have another beer to tackle....
